I interviewed Richie Tate for the Autumn 2022 edition of Nympton News to look ahead to the Xmas edition, which traditionally raises money for the Devon Air Ambulance. We covered so much ground that I have divided the interview into five parts. They cover how he originally set his heart on being a helicopter pilot, his military career (he served in the Blues and Royals alongside Grove Inn landlord Robert Smallbone, before going on to train as a helicopter pilot and fly covert special forces missions in Iraq and Afghanistan) and how he eventually did become an Air Ambulance pilot.                                                                                                          Martin Pailthorpe
